This week in the Trust all of the children will be learning what to do if they are faced with the worst case scenario either in school or the community.

The programme we are using is ICE CATS (In Case of Emergency,Children,Adults,Teacher,Safety).  This programme is based on the correct training practised by the police and other agencies to help support staff, children and parents learn how to respond to an emergency or an evacuation and lock-down procedure.  It is designed to protect children and help them evaluate an area quickly, safely and quietly.  They will learn a set of hand signals to use when a voice would put them in more danger.

Each of our schools, at the end of the week, will review their lock-down policy and update their web site with information for parents.
